Hi all. During our last clear night, I tried imaging IC443 with an Astronomik 15nm bandpass filter. This object is a supernova remnant with a suspected neutron star. The neutron star is perhaps only 20 kilometers in diameter, but has more mass than our sun! I was only able to get 4x10minute exposures before it went behind the trees in my back yard, but it is a good start. I am very interested in doing more H-a imaging, because it can be done when the moon is very bright. Use of this filter will allow many more opportunities for imaging without worrying about a bright moonlit sky. I hope someone enjoys the image.
