Today it's a short curved string of spots, with a little light patch in the middle that should be watched. It was noticeable in both white light and hydrogen-alpha. Nice arch prominence on the limb, as well as a few smaller spikes that developed and disappeared quickly. I set up at Bob Grant's house today; the drive from my house to his is the perfect excuse to exercise the RX-8, and the PST and TeleTrack fit easily in the small trunk. We set up the telescopes just outside his garage so that we could stand in shade while the telescopes themselves were in sunlight. Really made a difference using the garage eaves as a "gobi". There is a nice little sunspot near the center of the Sun's disk today.
