We are in China right now, and I have been really surprised at the complete obliviousness of everyone to the launch. We expected a certain amount of pride and national attention, perhaps even a bit of celebration, but it has been a complete non-starter. It was difficult to find coverage on any of the Chinese news channels. On the light side, we were wandering the streets in Xian and came across a couple of sidewalk astronomers. However, they wanted 10 yuan, (1.60) to look through the scope, and it was just a blurry blob.... Pictures may follow in a few weeks... Jo Quoting Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com>:

Interesting to compare how their mission control sounds compared to NASA's.
