I guess I really should let this thread die out so as not to be accused of beating a dead horse, but something came up that made it just too difficult to resist. During the heat of the debate Steve mentioned a book "A Short History of the Universe" by Joseph Silk. I remember having read it but was unable to find a copy in my book stack. Then I remembered. I sold my copy during a swap meet in the the basement of a Lutheran church back in about 2004. And the person I distinctly remember selling it to was................Bob Taylor. So Bob I second Steve's recomendation that you read this book since I know you actually have a copy. But watch out. It's "main stream science" and you know how tricky those guys can be. DT
