Very nice! A Cherokee 180 should be fairly economical too. Where are you keeping it? ________________________________ From: Barrett <BarrettWF@comcast.net> To: 'Utah Astronomy' <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, January 14, 2012 9:18 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] New meteorite hunting toy Well...OK....If I must. Just bought a "new-to-me" airplane. It's a Piper Cherokee 180. With it being low-wing, I'm not sure how many bowling balls I'll be throwing out of it though. Probably wasn't the right pick for a meteorite hunting plane, as it fairly fast and low wing, but it can get me to the area of a meteorite fall fairly quick. At any rate, I'm having fun with it, at least until my "flying budget" run out! It would seem to me that the spinning thing on the front of the plane would be hazardous to pedestrians though. Lol ...."Who said that I need a license to fly?" I do it every day on the interstate! :-) -Barrett -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Patrick Wiggins Sent: Friday, January 13, 2012 8:03 PM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: [Utah-astronomy] New meteorite hunting toy (Was: Observing Tonight south of Vernon) Barrett, maybe you should share news of your newly acquired meteor hunting tool with the list (and then we can go practice formation bowling ball drops). patrick :) _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php
