Hello all. I want to add my welcome to Steve Peterson, Raylene Lyon, Mike Nelson, and all the other new members. I have been lurking and posting for a few years now, but just joined SLAS recently myself. This is a really knowledgeable group. I offer my limited knowledge of astrophotography to anyone who is getting into the bottomless financial pit of astrophotography. :) I use a G-11 myself and have collected many old photons in my lifetime. I have a few images on the SLAS gallery, and many more on my website. Links are below. http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php http://www.allred-astro.com/index.html Feel free to contact me with any questions. I will help if I can. Also, I will be speaking at the SLAS meeting on February 17th. I am planning to bring my imaging setup with me, but I may need some help packing it into the meeting hall. I hope to meet some of you newbies there at the meeting, and to put faces to a few of the frequent posters. Again... welcome. Cheers and Clear Skies, Tyler Allred _____________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Stephen Peterson Sent: Friday, February 06, 2009 7:31 PM To: utah-astronomy-request@mailman.xmission.com; utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Utah-astronomy] New member All, Not sure which address to submit query to, so both. Trying to get serious about astrophotography. Looking for some guidance by more experienced than me (shouldn't be hard). Will be using Canon EOS D40 or D20 with 8-10 inch scopes (f4-ish) and Losmandy Gemini 11 with autotracking (DSI and Shoestring/PhD). Have ordered HAIP4Win software. Would love to watch/learn from someone who knows what they are doing!
