You need the 1Password application. Dave Sent from my iPad On Jan 24, 2012, at 9:59 AM, erikhansen@thebluezone.net wrote:
Personally I am in username/password overload and am very reluctant to join any blog spots etc, that require this. Take Dish Network for example, I forgot my info and called them for it, they could not figure out how to get me logged in, that is the sort of thing that is not worth the hassle. It is easy to delete excess posts if I want, the problem is when you go long periods without checking your e-mail. Those people are likely to overload their inboxes period.
I find it interesting some site the time problem then talk about all the other "chat" sites they belong to.
This is not my primary e-mail account either.

It seems that the biggest complaint of the list-serve format is that
it tends to clutter your email IN box.
My solution was to create a free gmail account and use it for utah-astronomy related messages exclusively. The gmail format makes navigating the list messages as easy as it can be, and is then much more user-friendly than a forum format, IMO.
I would only use gmail for this, it's much easier to use than most other free email services. Also since I don't use this account for online shopping, it remains spam free.
My personal email accounts and business account thus never get "cluttered" with interspersed astronomy posts. I've had it going this way for years now and still love it.
Just a suggestion for those facing inbox overload.
