Many thanks, Don. I'll pull that issue when I get home tonight. I remember at the time I read it, realizing the value of the idea, especially with very fast systems. I don't know if I'm getting old or what, but I finally broke down and bought a laser collimator. (gasp!) On Mon, Apr 21, 2008 at 11:30 AM, Don J. Colton <djcolton@piol.com> wrote:
Chuck,
January 2003 issue. This is by far the best way to collimate a Newtonian. The article also explains that collimating with a laser alone, without the Barlow, can often result in "laser miscollimation".
