Yes, I'd like to see it! I don't have it here at work so I'd have to send it later. There are also some slightly older OAS Star Diagonals that have a couple articles I wrote about the radio telescope. Those articles are just a bit dated now because I've switched receivers. I'll find the links to the online files. As Chuck mentioned - you certainly don't see pretty pictures show up on the screen. But, there is some interesting stuff to be found in the data. I'm going to be getting a sweet deal on a loop Yagi antenna from a guy in Canada. I'll be using that along with my dish and I hope to try my hand at some interferometry over the coming year. Clear skies, Dale. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Joe Bauman Sent: Monday, May 24, 2010 9:02 PM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Weekend observing Dale, this is fascinating. It's been raining all weekend but I've still been running drift scans at dec -20 degrees. At 1420 MHz (21 cm hydrogen line) clouds and rainstorms (without lightning) are no problem. It rained steadily for over 1 hour at my house with periods of very heavy rain.
I just found precisely one inch of rain in the rain gague (25mm).
That's a 24-hour total for my West Valley location, and it took me by surprise. It must have just dumped after I went to bed last night.
