I recently reread the "Demon Haunted World". I it has aged rather well for an opinion piece about science.
It reminds me why it's important to seek the truth without concern about who might be offended.
I would say that the forces who seek to dumb us all down have captured major media outlets and are screaming their shrill message as the attempt to promote their world view.
I can no longer speak with some of my friends because they have turned off their critical thinking and can only recite what they have heard from these voices of ignorance.
Carl's message is as important today as it was 17 years ago. We need to keep looking for the truth. And we need to tell people when they are full of it. Even if they are famous and even if they are our friends.
