This is an excellent time to locate and identify Saturn's moons. The innermost ones are dim and hard to spot in the glare of the rings, when the rings are more open. Here is a neat javascript utility for plotting the positions of the moons at any given time. It also has the capability of matching the view to your particular optical system (mirror-reversed, etc.) http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/javascript/3308506.html This is an interesting project for observers with any sky condition, dark or light-polluted, with a very easy-to-find target. Saturn is visible in the predawn hours at a high altitude in Leo. The rings are nearly edge on. --0-- - Kurt
