Kurt, most newspapers are available online at the Utah Digital Newspaper project. this should be the link for the Deseret News http://www.lib.utah.edu/digital/unews/dn.html Hope it helps. Dan Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote: Kurt, I am not sure if they're available on-line, but I can look up the article in our microfilm archives and send you a copy. I think the best bet would be to copy the microfilm on paper, scan it in at home, and send you the scan via email. Would that work? Best wishes, Joe
A couple of Utah historical astro questions related to the Meridian House formerly on Temple Square.
1) The Meridian House was decommissioned as a timekeeping station in 1897. Did a new observatory open about the same time, e.g. at U of U?
2) I am looking for a copy of the Deseret News weekly regarding the reopening of the Meridian House in Sept. 1869. I understand that the early editions of Deseret News Weekly are available online. Does anyone know where I can go to read them online (without hoofing it to the library?)
