The new issue of S&T carries a lot of information on May's possible Camelopardalids meteor shower. Anyone here have any plans for watching for it? For those who may not have heard, the shower is predicted to peak on the 24th of May between 0629 and 0740 UT. The article notes that "...the first noticeable meteoroids will occur around 5:40 UT and the last ones by 8:50 UT. There is a public star party in SLC the evening before which is scheduled to end about 1.5 hours before the shower's predicted start time. That should give those of us at the star party plenty of time to drive to dark skies. The radiant is to be near Polaris to we'd need a dark northern sky which has me thinking that site (name escapes me) north of I-80, west of the Great Salt Lake might work. Thoughts? patrick
