I assume you're referring to comet Holmes, Joe. It was intriguing intellectually, and I know I personally referred to it as "spooky"- mostly due to it's appearance; but it didn't rate as my top astro-event for the year. I'd have to award that to the lunar eclipse- much more dramatic and visually appealing. All in all, there wasn't much happening astronomically that had a larger visual impact, but for me the eclipse was about the most fun. That comet last winter (McNaught) was more interesting to me than Holmes, seeing it in daylight and all, and the photos of the magnificent tail. I suppose that it's getting harder to impress me, astronomically, as time goes by.
