You almost certainly have some Adware (basically a virus that forces advertisements on you). I'd recommend downloading and running Ad-Aware - http://download.cnet.com/Ad-Aware-Free-Internet-Security/3000-8022_4-1004591... and/or IObit - http://download.cnet.com/IObit-Security-360/3000-8022_4-10967594.html Chances are that it is IE that has been compromised, but there are some cases where add-ons or other compromises in Firefox can result in continual pop-ups. These programs should find and solve the problem. Jared On Wed, Apr 20, 2011 at 3:36 PM, Kim Hyatt <kimharch@cut.net> wrote:
I apologize for bothering this list, but I don't' know anyone else as knowledgeable as this group who might be able to help me. A few months ago I had to replace my computer and I have had a nagging problem with my newer computer that I never had with my old one. I'm sure it's just a setting somewhere. I use only Mozilla Firefox for all of my internet use, except email. I am constantly barraged with Explorer pop-up windows even when I'm using Firefox. I've tried disabling Explorer altogether, but without success. Setting Explorer's pop-up blocker to "high" just isn't working. How can I get rid of Bill Gates et. al. constant hacking into my internet use, especially from Mozilla? Any ideas would be appreciated.
