Hey Don, the Dither Master instructions are in Italian but I used a few translation programs on the Internet and managed to get something I think I can understand. I'm not sure if the one you got is the same as the one I did; Nicola said the one I downloaded -- MAXPhd Dither Plus -- is to use with MaxIM and PHD. Here are the instructions as best as I can get them translated: Translation mostly by Google, with some smoothing by me: Manual MaxPHD DitherPlus 1.0 1.0 Purpose of the program: software designed to use the program known Maxim DL for the resumption [acquisition?] of deep sky objects, using PHD Guiding software as a guider. The purpose of the program is to use the technique of dithering in the recovery [acquisition?] phase, in automated form. Dithering is a technique for recovery that is to move randomly in the recovery plan so that the sensor faults and defects related to the recovery debayerizzazione [in color matrix] images from color cameras is minimized. Running DitherPlus You launch DitherPlus by double-clicking its name. At this point the DitherPlus window appears, where you can enter some parameters that will serve us in the recovery phase. Parameters of DitherPlus "# Frames" Number of frames to be captured. "Exposure (sec.): Exposure time for each frame dither Radius (pixels)" maximum size for the movement of dithering, in pixels "Shooting mode:" Could be, "Luminance", "RGB", "H -alpha. "If you shoot with color cameras (ie cameras with no filter wheel), override this setting. If instead you have a filter wheel, remember to set Maxim DL with filters in the following order: L, R, G, B , H-alpha. The Luminance mode takes a sequence of images with the luminance filter. The H-alpha mode, takes a sequence of images with the H-alpha filter. The RGB mode, takes a sequence 'images for each color channel. Example: If the parameter "# Frames" I put three, and set the RGB mode, run the back edge MaxPHD sequence: R, G, B, R, G, B, R, G, B. So the actual total number of frames included is "# Frames" multiplied by 3. "Dithering Tolerance (pixels)": After dithering, the guide must settle on the normal vibration values it had before the dithering. With this parameter is set by MaxPHD to start a pose when the oscillation of the guide is within + or-the value specified in pixels. "Dithering timeout (sec)": Sometimes, for example, because of seeing, the oscillation after the dithering is not within the parameters that we set. s'istrusce MaxPHD With this setting to start the next pose in any case after a certain period of time. "Guides exposure time (sec): Set here the time Laying in turn set to PHD Guiding. "File prefix": It 's the word that acts as an alphanumeric code of the file names for images that are captured. For example, if I'm taking M42 Luminance mode, I could enter as a file prefix the word "M42_" and then set them will be named: M42_L_1.fit, M42_L_2.fit, etc.. In the right section of the window: "Status": It 's a column that lets you know what MaxPHD is doing at that moment the bottom of the Status section, there is a progress bar that provides visual information of progress ACTIVITY of recovery. These are the operating steps for the proper functioning of MaxPHD: 1) Launch PHD Guiding, all the parameters and start the guider. 2) Run Maxim DL and set all the parameters of recovery [resumption?], except for those times that are set by MaxPHD 3) Run MaxPHD 4) Set parameters MaxPHD 5) Click the Start button 6) Now the part MaxPHD sequence set 7) You can quit MaxPHD at any time by simultaneously pressing the CTRL + ALT + x 8) At the end of the sequence, press the Quit button to exit the program Regarding any requests for improvements or abnormalities, write omega.centauri@gmail.com. I got it from Nicola at
It's free to download
I noticed a few bugs I reported to Nicola. He said he is going to release a new version very soon.
Cheers,
David

David,
Where did you get Dither Master that works with PhD Guiding?
Thanks,
