Chuck,
Welcome back, the 5" F5 caught my eye too. I have the 6" version but did build a 5" tube assembly with the Jaegers a few years back. It is a great lens at a great price, add a V-block or Minus Violet filter and the chromatic aberration is greatly reduced. Erik Not sure if this is a repost since I've only been back for a day, but
Surplus Shed has been selling some more old Jaegers lenses for bargain prices.
I just picked-up a few achromatic objectives with cells, a 6" f/10 and 6" f/15, as well as their legendary 5" f/5 doublet with cell. Just for kicks I also bought an 88mm f/2.8 doublet with cell.
Anyone who doubts what a large doublet can show you should take a peek through Steve's D&G or Ziggy's Clark.
Get them while you can.
