I'm just back from Lakeside (the berm site). It was completely clouded over, and I packed up around 11:30 p.m. As I was driving back toward the freeway I noticed something odd in the sky -- a bright point. I stopped at the turnoff and got out, and there were stars!!! By then it was too late to head back, so I went to the Denny's at the Tooele turnoff, to meet a bunch of the guys who had been observing (or trying to observe?) at SPOC. Well, I guess I'll try again Saturday night. -- Joe ________________________________ From: Jay Eads <jayleads@gmail.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, June 3, 2011 6:30 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Friday Observing Pit n Pole Sorry Joe, I was caught up in work this afternoon moving things and am just now getting to email. Just wanted to say that as of now, I know of myself and two others that are heading out to Pit n Pole tomorrow night for a nice long observing session. All forecasts give it as clear, cool, with temps in the upper thirties to mid forties and most importantly, very low humidity around 50% to 55% for the night. If anyone wants to join us feel free to come on out.
