I also seem to get it as August approaches, in other words the date is triggering it. The people who seem to be sending it have no idea what opposition is. So far, just one.   It used to be that this e-mail would only surface a few months before we had an actual opposition with the red planet.  This year is the first time I've seen it after opposition.  Me thinks that in the future, it will now be sent whenever we get close to the month of August.
