Just wondering how the shorter/more compact parallogram bino mount was coming? Any drawings/ sketches/ dimensions / pic yet? Are you using square aluminum stock for the arms? What attaching them to? Wood block or aluminum something???
The compact parallelogram is Bruce Grim's design, and already done. He used hardware-store aluminum and springs. He is not a list member, but I think he's bringing it to the Bino star-party. I am not making one of his designs. He was in Colorado over the weekend, Patrick may know when he will be back.
Maybe I am too far ahead of where you are in the construction. Would you have any part of it to bring along to next meeting next week?
I'm building a mostly aluminum, full-size parallelogram right now for myself, coming along nicely. I want it full-size for my 70mm binos. Probably will not be at the next SLAS meeting. Two meetings in a row? Me? Are you kidding? ;) I also plan to make one using either wood or hardware-store extruded aluminum, that uses minimal tools, per Rich's request. That one is priority #2. I want to get the bigger, more heavy-duty one for the star-party first.
I would like to build one and like the idea of the adjustable Aluminum crutches, but wnated one more compact than the crutches make. Just
Yeah, I agree with you; I felt Glen's crutch mount was a bit on the bulky side, but aluminum is definitely the way to go, large or small. Chuck __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? LAUNCH - Your Yahoo! Music Experience http://launch.yahoo.com
