Exoplanet is awesome for the 3-D interactive zoomable Milky Way. Just plain "Exoplanet" by an exoplanet scientist named Hanno Rein: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/exoplanet/id327702034?mt=8 The "Daylight" app is a simple, super-fast way to find sunrise/sunset/twilight times: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/daylight/id324528814?mt=8 "Luan" is my preferred Moon phase app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/luan-lunar-calendar-moon-phases/id305665185?... Is it Exoplanet or Exoplanet Explorer Lite? Is Daylight just a globe map showing where daylight is? When I search for Luan I get Luan Santana, not an astronomical app. On Mon, Aug 19, 2013 at 8:54 AM, Seth Jarvis <SJarvis@slco.org> wrote:

If you forced me to choose just a few to have loaded and then no more, I'd keep SkySafari+, Luan, Exoplanet and Daylight. Those get used constantly, while the others are in the "fun to have and occasionally use" category.
Enjoy!

I am now the proud owner of a smart phone (the last cell phone was a flip phone - much like Star Trek's communicators). The members of this board have discussed astronomy apps for cell phones previously, but I am requesting a few, at least to start, "free" apps for astronomy. Any suggestions? _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy
