You could go with something like this - http://www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?pid=10814&kw=Baader%20film&st=2 - for $120, but you don't need (or probably want) a full aperture filter for a 10". Dave's 125mm filter (which is a SWEET price, by the way) put in an off-axis cell made from a few dollars of supplies (I found foam core board instead of cardboard worked better) will work great. This will give you a 4.5" or so of aperture, which should be adequate. As I learned the hard way, you want to make sure you get the visual film, and NOT the photographic film (unless it's for photography ONLY!), otherwise you can permanently damage your eyes. If you go with photographic film, a full-aperture filter will be WAY too bright. I suspect Baader film will quickly become expensive and difficult to find. I am looking for a solar filter that would fit my 10" Orion Dob at a reasonable price, any ideas?
