Very easy tonight in 10x50s. I almost want to say it is barely visible naked eye but that may be more wishful imagining than fact. Too bad about the Moon. Hopefully better the next few days when the Moon's out of the way. MPC is putting it at mag 5 today and tomorrow. 4.9 the three days after that before going back to 5 on the 13th. Plus it's getting another 2 to 3 degrees higher in declination each night. Currently -02. patrick On 06 Jan 2015, at 21:39, Robert Taylor <ratskradmt@gmail.com> wrote:
I have it in my 5" f/7.5 apo out back with my uwa 24mm eyepiece. I just sort of jumps out. No tail to see but the center is bright with quite a bit of fuzz around it.

Just had a look at Comet Lovejoy. Pretty easy to spot in 11x80s. Tried getting some pictures but the inner coma is so bright it washed out the images. Sure to image better for those with wide field imaging capabilities.
Currently about 1/3 of the way up the SE sky from here in N. Utah.
