Thanks Dave, very interesting abstract. My dad was a paleontology/geology student for a while and I remember him telling me about the coelacanth, when I was a kid. I think it was the first time I heard the phrase "living fossil". I immediately thought of my great-grandma, whom I was convinced had hunted mammoth in her youth.
