Ouch, Debbie, that could hurt where it hurts most- the wallet! A good rule is to not park the scope vertically, aim the mirror end into the prevailing wind, and secure it with two pairs of tent stakes and some 36"-48" (unstretched) bungee cords, laterally, no more wind problem. --- Debbie <astrodeb@earthlink.net> wrote:
I have a mirror cover and a scopecoat but one still needs to exercise caution. I recall at TSP several scopes were toppled over by the wind. Every year someone's scope is damaged at Texas Star Party because of the wind.
