I have a C8 and C11, as well as a 5" Mak and 4 " Unitron. For planets, moon and sun I clearly prefer the 4" refractor for sharpness and contrast - by far! Next best is the 5" Mak. The least sharp for planets are the 2 cassegrains, even after precise laser alignment. Just my preference. Jim --- UTAHDEB@aol.com wrote:
Will a SCT or Newtonian give better views of the planets or deep sky objects? I want to get some opinions on this before I sell my 8" SCT.
