In the arched section of your window you can make out the google camera atop a mast. That's probably the the blob shadow that shows up on my street views. ________________________________ From: Dave Gary <davegary@me.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, August 26, 2013 10:32 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Government funded observing platforms Thanks, we like it. I saw that reflection and wondered where it was coming from. If you pan back out to the road you’ll see a weird-shaped blob on the road surface in the shape of a car, but no car visible in the street. The reflection of a car in my front window is clearly visible and it’s not one of my cars, nor is there a car on the street. Check out the blob on the street surface, though. Interesting. I did not know they had a Google-mobile. I assumed their shots were strictly from the air. Notice, too, that you can’t read the license plate on my pickup, but there is enough detail that you can see the two true-north lines struck on my driveway. I, usually, set up on the one near the northeast corner. It’s a little fainter than the one near the palm bushes directly in front of the house. Nice home Dave. The park across the street from your home would normally be classified as a vacant field if found in any of the urban parks found here in northern Utah. Also, have you checked out the street view of your home? Zoom in on the front windows of your house and you'll see a reflection of the Google-mobile (always wondered what it looked like).

The arrow in St. George is very near my house. I didn’t know it was there. If you scroll over to Bloomington on Geronimo Rd. you can see my house. A red pickup is in the driveway and the Bloomington Petroglyph Park is across the street. Also, my house is the only one on Geronimo that has a pool. Easy to see from the air.

Joe just alerted me to these.
Looks like some would be ideal for setting up telescopes on. :)
