To clarify, my prior post has nothing to do with intentionally damaging a neighbor's light fixture. Using a red presentation laser to trip automatic light switches on exterior lights is a simple, non-controversial technique. The technique, if you have the permission of your neighbor, has the advantage in residential areas of not having to walk over to your neighbor's property in order to put a box over their light fixture. In residential neighborhoods, many homeowners use dogs for security, and the act of walking next door at 2 or 3 am easily can set your neighbors' dogs off - which will also interfere with your neighbor's quiet enjoyment of their home. - Kurt
