Ain't that the truth! I was out at Beryl on Sunday, and it has been pretty dry down in that neck of the woods. I was out on a farm road and it was just like being out at Lakeside in the summer. I'd take a blanket to cover equipment with while folks drive out. I also spoke to a sheriff's deputy I met on the road. He said that as long as people weren't impeding the flow of traffic, tearing up anyone's yard or interfering with anyone's access to their property, parking would be pretty-much where you'd like. So if you find it too crowded at cedar City or K'ville, consider driving just a few miles further west! On Thu, May 17, 2012 at 7:23 AM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

In all seriousness, it might not be a bad place to observe come nightfall,
no?

I have it, on good authority, that Cedar City is planning to turn off all outdoor lights for this event.
Oh - it's an easy fix. Just put your solar filter on the front of the
scope and your light polution filter on the eyepiece!
;) x2

KUTV reported you can see the eclipse at Kannarville away from the city lights.
I'm so sick of light pollution interfering with my solar observing. ;-)
