Today, FOX news has been running the story about the upcoming December 30th launch of the 'Deep impact' spacecraft which will meet and attempt to dismantle a comet called 'Comet Tempel 1" on or about July 4th. They were reporting that the event may be visible to the naked eye. Meteor scare motivates children

LONDON: A school teacher, trying to motivate her pupils to make the most of each day, told them a meteorite was about to hit the Earth and they should all go home and say goodbye to their families, a report said yesterday.
The teacher at a high school in Manchester only realized her lecture had been misinterpreted when many of the 250 assembled teenagers started crying, The Sun newspaper reported.
