A piece of aluminum flat stock with the a 1" right angle on the bottom. Two holes in the bottom of the flange receive the tongs of a large U-bolt - fence coupler. A U-bolt, about the size of the PST tube is inserted downward over the PST tube, through the flange and then is bolted against the flange from below. The astro-engineering design has a nice feature to hold multiple e.p.s on the scope. The full canopy idea is definitely worth looking into.
