Time: 2007 NOvember 3 0100-0230 UT.(Friday night MDT) Location: Z-Rock Gravel Quarry east of Park City. equiptment: 10x50 and 20x80 binoculars. conditions: Temperature fell from 36F to 26F but dewpoint was down in the teens so no frost and the sky was very transparent for this short session. Comet 17P Holmes was visable before Algol in the twilight. Stellar Pseudonucleus was not visable. The off center bright cloud is now centered in the inner coma because this coma is compressed on the sunward side and extended on the antisun side. The sunward side is also visably brighter than the antisun side. The outer coma was visable to three times the radius of the inner coma as measured from the bright cloud near the pseudonucleus. Very impressive. Also did a tour of fall Messier objects including m30, m2, m15, m72, m74, m77, m33, m31, m32, m110, m52, m103, m81, m82, m101: like i said the air was very transparent but the cold made me leave after only 90 minutes. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
