There's plenty of people who are scared of change or anything new. Let them sit around the dying campfire, huddling for warmth rather than putting more wood on it. Me? I'm looking forward to it. I loved the original, but it does need some updating. What was that again? "Come come, Mr. Scott. Young minds, fresh ideas. Be tolerant." Besides, nobody has ever forced me to watch a TV show since I was 8 years old. Dan On Jul 23, 2013, at 10:54 AM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
Thanks for that link, Dan.
There's a debate on CN about it. Seems people are already either for it or against it. Very few seem willing to watch it first, then make up their minds afterwards. And it usually boils down to people either liking or hating NDGT or Seth McFarlane, or even Carl Sagan. BTW, some of us old-timers met Sagan when he gave a talk at Westminster in, what was it, '75 or so? He was a perfect gentleman, very affable, even to this then-teenager with maybe 1% of his I.Q.
I have the original on factory VHS. I wonder if it's available on DVD or download? Also still have my original vinyl LP of the "Music of Cosmos" soundtrack. It still holds it's own very well. Some of the best parts of the show had nothing to do with special effects.

I'd heard about this a while ago, but at San Diego Comic Con a teaser trailer was released for the new version of Carl Sagan's Cosmos. It was great to see the 'Spaceship of the Imagination' again.

If there's one person who could do it justice, it's Neil DeGrasse Tyson. But since it's on Fox, I hope it doesn't get canceled after 5 episodes...grumbleFireflygrumble.
