Very nice work Dave. Since it's intended for planetary work, once you get to where you're feeling comfortable with it what's say you bring it out to SPOC some sunny afternoon and we could try some solar images through the refractor and DayStar filter? patrick On 23 Mar 2011, at 11:42, David@rankinstudio.com wrote:
I picked up this little DMK21 Monochrome CCD for planetary work. It can shoot at 640X480 at up to 60 minutes - but is made mainly for planetary work to function as a CCD webcam. I shot a few galaxies last night waiting for Saturn to rise. I didn't expect much from such a small sensor, but it framed them quite nicely and surprised me with the amount of detail it captured. I couldn't get it in focus with the filter wheel on and no barlow, so they are all monochrome.

I need to get the right adapter to achieve focus with the color wheel. I will probably give these another shot sometime shooting with the color filters.
Cheers
