Looks like Mars Global Surveyor is finally done. I've appreciated the data returned by all the Mars landers and orbiters, but MGS was my favorite. These were the first images at just the right scale to finally get a sense of the variety of Martian terrain. They gave a view of both Earthly and un-Earthly topography. I've been a non- space-exploring engineer for a long time, and my hat is off to the fine group of engineers that designed and assembled the orbiter. Let's hope MRS (Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter) has an equally successful career. Hope everybody had plenty to eat yesterday. I know I did my part. MC
