Here's to each of us no matter where we go this weekend, be it for the public, ourselves or for company or solitude. May the skies be clear, the seeing and transparency excellent and the equipment flawless. On Wed, Sep 1, 2010 at 4:53 PM, Ann House <ann@annhouse.org> wrote:
Steve,
You are just in a social mood, I guess! Enjoy, and yes, tell me all about it!

I'll keep you posted. I have gone back and forth several times about this weekend. I'm about 99% committed to Great Basin for this weekend. I have opted for the star party experience with the public rather than dark
and solitude. (what is wrong with me anyway)? I'll let you know how it turns out when I get back. Steve

I look forward to Capitol Reef. This is, by far, my favorite yearly SLAS outing. The Park is quiet and quaint. Several of us get together for day hikes with amazing views and fascinating sights. Some resturants offer locally grown foods and great menues. You can purchase a fruit pie-for-one for $5 in the park with homemade ice cream. The night sky is dark with a good low horizon in the east.
I haven't been to Great Basin since the year it became a National Park
skies -
almost 25 years ago - so I am anxious to hear about the star party there. But, I am headed to Capitol Reef. Hopefully, Bob, the weather will cooperate this year!
