Quoting Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net>:
Hi all. I made the trip to Wolf Creek on Friday night. The conditions were not that great, but I managed to get one decent image before the clouds took over.
The trip up wasn't that great either. The jack knifed truck at the summit of Parleys brought the traffic to a halt, as did the home town parade in Francis. I thought Miss Francis looked pretty cool leading the parade with all four hooves painted up...
The highlight of the evening was getting a peek through Steve Dodds 33-inch Dob. Wow, what a scope!!
Wow indeed! I felt bad for those 2 guy's from Vernal who came all the way to Wolf Creek for a star party and so they could get some kinda idea of what kind of scope they should purchase. You never want to start at the top. You want to work your way up to it, in increments. As I was leaving, one of them was still trying to calculate whether he could would be able to swing purchasing such a scope AND child support... ;)
I imaged M16, the Eagle Nebula. Here is a link to the thumbnail version:
Excellent picture Tyler. What is it? It don't look like no M16 I ever knew. I uploaded a different view of M16 from my personal greeting card collection. But frankly, I don't see any similarities... ;) <http://www.utahastronomy.com/diveboss>
