Transit is the passing of an object across the meridian, or as straight up as it can get. Uranus is actually a naked eye object. It is around magnitude 5.8, so it isn't naked eye by much. You can see it without any optical aid if you have dark skies and know where to look. Brent --- Jim Gibson <xajax99@yahoo.com> wrote:
Brent I am looking at Sky & Telescope's Skygazer's Almanac. It says for Feb 9th That Uranus sets and Pleiades in Transit. I assume that Uranus will be near the ecliptic. What kind of power is needed to see it. I think it would be too faint for 15x Binos. I am not sure what Pleiades in Transit means. In Transit of what? Jim
