Thank you Joe, I didn't want to get into that but there is no scenario where Al Gore won that election, he lost plain and simple and fought hard to try to take it from Bush. If there was a scenario where Gore wins I have yet to hear it. Climate Change... Excuse me, but that's just not correct about Gore. He did not meekly give up challenging a stolen election -- if he had, he would have been a coward and would have acted against the public interest. What Gore did was to call for a recount only in Florida counties he thought he might have won with a recount. Unfortunately for him, according to a study by the New York Times and other members of a media consortium, he did not actually win in those areas, and a full recount there would have put him deeper in the hole. If he had called for a recount of the entire state and if it had been carried out, that might have been a different story. (I don't know it would have.) But he didn't. He tried to rig it his way and it didn't work. He only has himself to blame for that. So how is that stealing an election? -- Joe --- On Wed, 11/25/09, stormcrow60@xmission.com <stormcrow60@xmission.com> wrote: From: stormcrow60@xmission.com <stormcrow60@xmission.com> Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Global Warming... I really do not think that members of Green Peace, risking their lives fighting whalers are looking for global power. I do not believe that people preserving old growth forests by living in trees are going to find their way to the top of the power pinnacle. I do not fancy that environmentalists chaining themselves to bulldozers and standing in front of logging trucks are going to get millions (billions?) in kickbacks, set themselves up in cozy corporate jobs or have ambitions for controlling global affairs. If Al Gore really, truly wanted some kind of power on a global scale, he would have fought tooth and nail against the election that Bush stole from him. But he did not... he meekly conceded his chance at being the most powerful person in the world. Yes, the fossil fuel industry provides us with oil and gasoline... that is their business... and they make obscene profits and receive billions of our taxes in running this business. They also stand in the way of developing renewable energy sources. As fossil fuels become more scarce the fossil fuel industry will make a killing... literally, laughing all the way to the bank, at yours and my expense.
