Starting my work day at 6 am has it's advantages...I and my staff watched the launch in my office, over OJ and my instant oatmeal. I plugged-in some amplified computer speakers and the sound was terrific as well. I agree, Rich, I loved the "extra" camera angles, especially the separation from the main tank. Hard to tell for sure, but the bottom of the shuttle and the wing leading edges looked unscathed to me. Spectacular, well-done; crew and support personnel! --- Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote:
Spectacular launch, a lot of fun with all the extra cameras on board this time. I nearly missed it, heading off to work. Glad I had the radio on, and promptly turned the car around to make it back in the house at T-minus-10 seconds! Very cool.
As to SLAS, I'd like to recommend a committee (the existing board perhaps?) that oversees speakers, so it's not the job of the president (alone) to assign speakers or to know exclusively what's on the program. Assuming I don't show tonight, would someone in SLAS please bring this up for discussion tonight?
