I was in the backyard doing some binocular and its cold but the skies are clear. Bad winds up top as the Antoniadi Scale is a IV to a V with lots of bad twinkling going on as the jet stream is moving out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoniadi_scale On Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 9:36 PM, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com>wrote:
So far tonight here near SPOC the weather is cooperating nicely.
'Course I don't think I qualify as "brave at heart" given that the telescope is outside in the cold doing all the work and I'm sitting here in a (relatively) warm house monitoring each data image as it comes in.

Wednesday night was a bust at Pit-N-Pole, but at least I tried, and I got to spend some good time with my daughters. The second dirt road (the one that the actual Pit-N-Pole observing location is on), was a little muddy from the recent rain, but nothing the ole Dodge Caravan couldn't handle.
I am still hopeful for tomorrow night, so hope to see many of you there.
Keep looking up!

I just work up from a nap and I know Mat is heading out tonight and I was going to but I'm not feeling so well tonight. Saturday night is forecasted to be clear and cold so I am going out to Pit n Pole if that forecast holds for observing from 6:00a.m. until 12:00a.m. or so. If your interested in going, dress warm in layers and let me know if you want to go out and try some late fall observing (no, not winter observing yet).
