Anyone in Utah get to see totality tonight?
Right at 5:30 I caught it just peeking over the mountain, still approaching totality. Then the window closed and only intermittant views were seen through the haze. At mid-totality it was impossible to see at all, too dark to punch through the cloud cover. Fleeting views of ending stages. My location was great (driveway!) from the standpoint of a low eastern horizon, but the clouds all but blocked the view completely. Incidentally, I ran Orion's version of TheSky, facing northeast, and drew my local horizon and obstructions on my monitor with a grease pencil. Even when the moon was totally obscured, I could see where it was on the monitor, as a consolation prize. I saw the TV coverage of the SPOC event, you folks all looked great!
