Patrick, You might be able to get similar images on good nights with the right equipment. They are using high end webcams/digital video cameras such as the SKYnyx (http://www.optcorp.com/ProductList.aspx?uid=319-320-1006-1017) and then stacking numerous images using Registax or a similar program.
