Good point, Mat, but that's pretty low with the 70", and the seeing is bound to be worse down low. I suspect this scope will get used most at mid-elevations, since it's almost impossible to move (by hand, at least), anywhere near Dobson's Hole. Only a few steps up the ladder.

You don't have to use a ladder if it is pointed low enough, Joe. As with any alt/az telescope, there is geometry involved with how high the eyepiece height is for a given altitude that the scope is pointed.
