The DARKEST site in Nevada, bar none (perhaps the darkest site in the contiguous 48 states) is located about 50 miles north of Battle Mountain. However, it's a lot like Mars there, with incredible heat in the summer. Not a nice place to do anything except astronomy and dig for artifacts. --- Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote:
Thanks! I plan to head to the vicinity of Mesquite, Nev., on Friday. Anybody know of a good observing site there, not close to the bright lights of the casinos? Thanks, Joe
