I just downloaded the full resolution TIFF (better image quality than the JPEG). I'd say that it's a bit of debris from the lander. (If we're looking at the same "thingy") Looking closely at the image, there apear to be several bits of debris, primarily in the path made by the air bags, but some lie outside of this path.
