Thanks Patrick. I might give PANSTARRS a try. It might be fun. So far I have only photographed PANSTARRS with my Nikon 300mm F/2.8 lens. I seem to be focused on galaxies because I can get more detail now with the longer focal length. I need to ask you about entering ephemeris data to the Paramount. I know you track objects all the time, but I need a lesson. Perhaps we can discuss it privately through my email. Fun to count all the background galaxies. Do you plan to shoot 2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) some morning soon? patrick On 05 May 2013, at 22:40, Tyler Allred wrote:
Hi all,
This image was taken from my backyard observatory over two recent nights in April, 2013, with my homemade astrograph. It is one of my favorite objects in the sky, and I just love looking around the image at all the smaller galaxies, of which there are literally hundreds. This may be my personal favorite astrophoto I have ever taken.
The full version is worth looking at to enjoy all the smaller galaxies.
