Jim, Ebony Star is one of those "urban legends" of astronomy. It may work very marginally better, but not that much. It was recommended once (I think by Dave Kriege??) as being a good solution, and the folklore has contiued ever since. Any formica with a rough surface texture will work very well. Of course, if you want bragging rights then Ebony Star is the thing to have. If my recollection is correct, I think either Dave Dunn or Lee Priest bought some, and may have some left. I have been looking around through Lowe's and Home Depot for Ebony Star laminate. They never seem to carry any, and it seems to cost just under $50.00 per 4'/8' sheet. Someone out there must have some smaller quantities for sale. Any one know a good source?
Jim
