Jim, Starhopping can be a frustrating experience with the moon and light pollution. I had some trouble finding M92 Sat night but I eventually found it. I don't normally look at galaxies when the moon is out. I save those for moonless dark nights. I was mainly looking at planets, double stars, and globular clusters For a finderscope, I like the ones from University Optics. I own a 8 X 50 Right Angle Amici finder though I don't use it much.
