Actually, the transience of magnetic data and color prints spell good news for some of us...it means there will always be a need for artists! As far as data-reading devices falling into obsolescence quickly, how about those programs you bought only six or seven years ago, that won't run on the OS you currently have? I have heard that some color processes have relatively good shelflife, notably Ciabachrome. Also, my experience with Extachrome film that I developed myself nearly 40 years ago is that if it's stored in the dark and not projected, the colors seem about the same. Thanks, Joe
